We would like to provide you the following useful and important information regarding your exams and exam application.
At the end of the autumn semester of the 2025/2026 school year, you have to take exams of the compulsory subjects during the exam period which starts 15th of December 2025 and ends 31st of January 2026. (2-7th February 2026: during this week you can only take repeat exam of a subject you have failed.)
Exam registration will start on 1st of December.
Please note that the winter closure will be between 22nd of December, 2025, and 2nd of January, 2026.
Some important information about the exam period:
• A student who has any payment obligation cannot register for the exams unless the debt has been settled (tuition fee, course fee, PE lessons etc.)
• The Faculty of Arts (BBMK) provides only one exam opportunity for each main subject during the exam period.
• The possibility of registering or cancelling for the exam ceases 24 hours before the start of the exam. It is the responsibility of the student who withdraws from the exam to request a new exam opportunity from their teacher.
• If you realize in the meantime that you won't be able to take the exam, cancel it, otherwise you will lose an exam opportunity. Don't sign up for multiple sessions at the same time!
• Undocumented absence reduces the number of the exam opportunities, but doesn't count as a failed exam. Absences must be recorded by the instructor in the electronic study system. (NEPTUN)
• A student who doesn't attend to an exam without a certificate is not entitled to any additional fairness or allowance for any course during the exam period.
• If you are unable to attend to the exam due to illness, notify the teacher as soon as possible and send him/her the medical certificate.
• If you passed an exam without registering for it, ask your teacher to register you for the exam, otherwise you won't be able to get the grade.
• In case of failure, the student is entitled to repeat the exam within the same exam period. The date of the retake can be no earlier than the third working day after the day of the failed exam.
• An unsuccessful exam for the same subject can be repeated twice within the same exam period, with the addition that the student who has only one failed exam in the given exam period can take a third repeat exam with the permission of the student office. The total number of repeat exams taken of the same subject may not exceed 5.
• Correcting a succesful exam (except the main subject and chamber music) can be done once per subject upon a request written to your teacher within the current exam period.
• If somebody receives a recommended grade of a subject, it will only be considered completed if the student accepts it in the NEPTUN system.
• If the student can see that his/her evaluation has been recorded incorrectly in NEPTUN, he/she can make a comment to his/her teacher and the Faculty's education organizer (oktatasszervezo.bbmk@szte.hu) within 14 days of the end of the exam period the latest. In case of rejection, a request form can be submitted to the Faculty's Study Committee. Please also let us know if you haven't got the grade, even though you have passed the exam.
• A repeat exam can be taken from 2nd to 7th of February in case of an insufficient exam result was registered earlier and you didn't use all the exam opportunities.
• For more information, we recommend to read the Academic and Examination Regulations of the University of Szeged, which you can find attached to this message
