I. Performance (BA)

Specialisations: Piano, Violin, Guitar, Flute, Trombone, Classical singing

Instrumental and singing training. After the successful completion of the program the student gets the degree, which is necessary to the application in the master program.

  • Period of the training: 6 semesters
  • Amount of the application fee: 35 Euro/programme
  • Amount of the tuition fee: 5000 Euro/academic year
  • Examination fee: 100 Euro/one-time
  • Entry requirements:
  • High school final examination certificate (with official translation in English language)
  • Document to the certify foreign language (English) skills (minimum level: B2): language exam certificate or IELTS (min. 5.5) certificate

Application and admission procedure:

The applicant must submit the completed application form in English language and the copies of the documents about the qualifications and foreign language skills. The applicant also has to submit a demo recording with the performance of the admission audition requirements. If the documents of the applicant are adequate to the entry requirements and if the departmental opinion is positive in virtue of the entrance performance, the applicant will be admitted to the Béla Bartók Faculty of Arts.

 

Please note that the demo recording shall be your official entrance exam that the professional committee will evaluate, therefore make sure that the quality is acceptable. Thus, foreign students do not have to take an on site entrance exam.


 

Graduation (conditions of receiving the diploma): The undergraduate student must comply with the defined course syllabus model throughout the 6 semesters. Only those students are eligible to take the final exam, who have acquired the pre-degree certificate, namely, having acquired all required credits related to the undergraduate training, as well as fulfilled the elective courses within the elective course block. In the event of missing credits, those must be acquired by the undergraduate student in a new semester. The examination procedures during the studies are the following: concert exam for the main subject and chamber music; written/oral/practical report or exam, respectively; and final exam at the end of the studies. The final exam for undergraduate training is an approximately 45 minute diploma concert, consisting of a freely chosen program that represents a minimum of three different classical musical styles. The fulfilment of the above requirements are mandatory.

II. Classical Musical Instrumental Performance (MA)

Specialisations: Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello, Guitar, Flute, Trombone, French Horn

Instrumental training. After the successfully completion of the program the student gets an instrumental artist degree.

  • Period of the training: 4 semesters
  • Amount of the application fee: 35 Euro/programme
  • Amount of the tuition fee: 5000 Euro/academic year
  • Examination fee: 100 Euro/one-time
  • Entry requirements:
  • BA degree acquired on the equivalent specialisation (with official translation in English language)
  • Document to the certify of the foreign language (English) skills (minimum level: B2): language exam certificate or IELTS (min. 5.5) certificate

The applicant must submit the completed application form in English language and the copies of the documents about the qualifications and foreign language skills.   • Application fee: 35 EUR
  • Entrance Exam fee: 100 EUR
  • Tuition fee: 2650 EUR/semester

V. Preparatory Course for Musical Studies


Specialisations: Piano, Organ, Harpsichord, Harp, Violin, Viola, Cello, Double bass, Guitar, Oboe, Flute, Clarinet, Bassoon, Recorder, Trumpet, French horn, Trombone, Tuba, Percussion, Singing


It is a 1-semester long instrumental and singing training, which prepares students for the admission exam of the Performance (BA) program.


  • Period of the training: 1 semester
  • Application fee: 35 EUR
  • Entrance Exam fee: 100 EUR
  • Tuition fee: 2650 EUR
  • Start of the programme: February of each year
  • Entry requirements:
    • high school examination certificate (with official translation in English language)
    • Document to the certify of the foreign language skills (minimum level: B2): language exam certificate or TOEFL certificate
