The Lams Matera Award International Festival/Contest for young musicians (entitled "Rosa Ponselle" until 2018) reaches its twenty-third edition and is part of the many artistic and cultural initiatives of the LAMS, with the patronage of the Ministry for Culture, the Basilicata Region, the Municipality of Matera, the Province of Matera.

The field of promotion of young musicians is an area on which Lams wants to invest in stimulating as much as possible the growth of the artistic heritage and potential, local and not, of the new generations. The objectives of the Prize are to spread the musical culture, to offer - to competitors - an important opportunity of testing their skills through comparison and fair competition, consolidating and promoting cultural tourism to the knowledge of Matera and the entire Basilicata.
Competitors of the LAMS MATERA Award can choose two modes:
• A) live, in Matera from 26 to 29 May 2023;
• B) online, on the Lams YouTube channel from 26 to 29 May 2023.
