International Opera Singing Competition in Sorrento
The Association Musica e Spettacolo in partnership with Opera e Lirica srls and Museo Correale of Terranova, presents the International Opera Singing Competition in Sorrento.
After the success of the first edition, which took place in Sorrento in 2018, the young association continues to aim to create opportunities for its artists, especially the young promises, through scholarships and professional opportunities.
Together with this, the Opera Competition and in particular the prize-giving Concert, want to represent the resumption of cultural activities and live entertainment in Sorrento.
The qualifying and final rounds will take place online: candidates, without limit of nationality, divided into two categories by age will send a video with the performance of opera arias and will be evaluated by the Jury. The list of winners will be published on the association’s website on September 1st.
On 24 September it will take place at the Correale Museum the prize-giving Concert with the delivery of the parchments and prizes. The prizes consist of sums of money, scholarships, access to competitions and participation in Opera Seasons, masterclasses and interviews for prestigious magazines such as Opera Life.
The competition Jury will be chaired by the internationally renowned Soprano Norma Fantini, flanked by Placido Domingo jr, by the conductor Ivan Antonio, by the Soprano Romina Casucci and by the manager Giusi Cuccaro.
Numerous and important sponsors of this edition, including Mimas Music Festival di Procida, Neapolitan Masters Competition, the Magazine Opera Life, the Foundation Fossano Musica and Singing Academy OperaLab.
