Workshop of World-Class Artists – Masterclass by Zoltán Fejérvári
The joint masterclass series of the Szeged Symphony Orchestra and the Béla Bartók Faculty of Arts at the University of Szeged, the World Stars Workshop, continues. The next guest in the series is Hungarian pianist Zoltán Fejérvári, who will give a masterclass for students of the SZTE BBMK at the Korzó Music Hall on 18th April.

The course is open to the public, so anyone can attend as a passive participant.
Zoltán Fejérvári was born in 1986 and is one of the most exciting pianists of the new generation of Hungarian musicians. As the winner of the 2017 Concours Musical International de Montréal and a 2016 recipient of the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award, he has performed throughout Europe and North America at renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall, Place des Arts (Montreal), the Gasteig (Munich), the Lingotto (Turin), the Palau de la Música (Valencia), Wigmore Hall (London), and the Liszt Academy (Budapest).
As a soloist, he has appeared with the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Verbier Chamber Orchestra, and Concerto Budapest. He has collaborated with conductors including Iván Fischer, Gábor Takács-Nagy, Ken-Ichiro Kobayashi, András Keller, and Zoltán Kocsis.
His debut album, featuring works by Janáček, was released by Piano Classics in 2019, followed by a Schumann album on Atma Classique in 2020. Reviewing the latter, Gramophone wrote: “Fejérvári is a deeply communicative artist who combines the calm yet virtuoso playing required by his instrument with impeccable musicality. Those who have not yet heard him perform are in for a rare treat.”
Since 2021, he has been a professor in the classical music department at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland in Basel.
